Making Of An Infinity Figure Video
This video gives us a look at a few steps of the process yet seen to the Infinity fans, including the detailed process of putting together the final paint layouts.
First the video shows us how a character is taken from it’s iconic IP and drawn into the Infinity world. Artists work hard and long to blend Infinity’s iconic look with the original design of the character.
Next, 3D artists put together a full rendering of the character, taking it from a flat 2D concept and making it a walking, talking, animated personality. The 3D artist isn’t just designing the in game character, but also putting together the actual figure itself.
From the 3D render, the character comes to life in the 3D printing room. Rising out of a murky pool of grey goo, the toy takes shape and springs to life from the previously rendered artwork. The team carefully cleans all the rough edges, seams, and blemishes and preps the parts for assembly.
The assembled figure travels to the paint department where talented artists hand mix colors to match the specific requirements for each part. From the decorative base and it’s accessories to the back of the mouth and the tiny pupils, every part of the figure is gone over and lovingly painted.
Assembled and now programmed into the game, the figure now sporting it’s NFC chip is dropped onto the base and Olaf comes to life inside the Toy Box.
Some quick packaging design, and he is on his way to shelves across the world waiting for families to pick him up and deliver warm hugs!
