We made a post last week about the future of Disney Infinity 3.0 as a gaming experience outside of the big three consoles. While there has been no official word up to this point from the main Disney Infinity account, site or faces, there have been hordes of fans speaking up about the missing content or errors they receive when trying to use their newly released figures.
Yesterday, within the forums of Disney Infinity, we got a glimpse of some sort of official word and it doesn’t look good.
Here is a direct screenshot and quote from the forums…
We appreciate the feedback. There are currently no plans for any further game updates for the Apple TV, mobile or PC versions of Disney Infinity 3.0. Please feel free to contact Support if you have questions or concerns:
According to this forum moderator, it doesn’t look like 3.0 is going to be focusing on anything other than a console experience. A major blow to anyone who has been actively playing on PC and Apple TV, the two versions of Infinity that supported the full game.
The biggest disappointment here is the Apple TV platform that was sold as a full starter pack with the full support of Disney Infinity’s entire 3.0 line up that now looks like it isn’t even getting the characters added to the Toy Box.
It appears that Disney Infinity NEXT should have introduced some kind of rebranding away from the 3.0 version, at least giving some excuse for the distance and dropped support. It’s unclear where Infinity plans on going next, and we still wait for some kind of official announcement giving their fans and players some kind of reason behind the missing support.
