Rumors have been circulating from the announcement of Ant-Man’s appearance in the new Captain America: Civil War film that the bite sized hero might be undergoing some BIG changes. And after the first episode of Disney Infinity NEXT and the live Twitch stream Q&A, our suspicions of Giant-Man making an appearance have been all but confirmed.
First we had hints dropped by the film’s director Peyton Reed months ago hinting that Ant-Man’s character and perhaps size might experience some growth during the next film.
Then various toy lines began releasing or teasing or leaking Civil War Playsets that included either references to Giant-Man or a Giant Ant-Man character.
Lego’s Civil War set features Giant-Man stomping around the airport…
And a 6″ Funko Pop of Giant Man is due to release for Civil War…
But Giant Man toy teases doesn’t necessarily mean that Infinity’s Ant-Man is going to go giant. That’s at least what we thought until yesterday’s live Q&A stream where JV mentioned that Ant-Man’s gameplay was embargoed until the March 15th release date. (52 minutes into the Twitch Stream)
Why would his gameplay be under lock down when all the other figures were free game to play with? His super move makes him BIG. (At least this is our guess.) And if his super move isn’t going giant, it is somehow worked into his gameplay through a finisher or combo.
You might remember Kylo Ren’s gameplay being embargoed to hide his enemy freezing super move… We might have another situation like that here.
Of course this is all speculation but we have a good feeling we might be getting Giant-Man!
